Instructor-led Training
Pennant has an excellent reputation in instructor-led training. It is a reputation derived from respect. Respect for the experience and ability of our specialist instructors, respect for the way our support teams develop training courseware which fit the client's maintenance philosophy and respect for the efficient and economic way in which our projects are managed.
Pennant's reputation has seen our instructors work on major rail projects, not only in the UK, but as far away as Japan, New York and California.
Pennant's approach to teaching rail maintenance is by blending classroom tuition with practical learning sessions. Our instructors explain the maintenance procedures to the students, reflecting the maintenance philosophy detailed in the workshop manuals, which are produced by Pennant, then it's off to the workshops for the ‘hands-on' experience.
This approach not only allows each student to clarify issues with the instructor as the course progresses but also enables them to get the physical ‘feel' of performing each task and to simultaneously familiarise themselves with the workshop manuals. This ‘learning by doing' (experiential) approach is a proven way to embed essential procedures in the students' minds.
Other instructor-led courses are better suited to an e-learning approach. One such example is our Basic Hydraulics courseware which features animations of fluid flow and hydraulic circuit operation.
The Pennant approach to instructor-led tuition bundles all the features available in traditional classroom presentations with the flexibility and ease of use made available by Pennant's cutting edge presentation techniques.
Our experience in instructor-led courseware and the production of associated training aids means that we can confidently advise the client on the most suitable approach to meet their needs. This advice will be based on Pennant's wealth of experience in the training industry, the client's maintenance philosophy and a desire to offer the best value-for-money solution.
