What is it?
What is it? OmegaPSi is the new web-enabled addition to the powerful OmegaPS suite of Logistics and Supportability Engineering Tools. OmegaPSi addresses the needs of Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) and Logistics Support Analysis Records (LSAR) for Def Stan 00-60 and Mil Std 1388-2B. Taking full advantage of the latest web technology from Oracle®, OmegaPSi delivers LSAR capabilities over an intranet, extranet or the internet, using java-enabled browsers such as Netscape or Explorer.
Why upgrade?
Why upgrade? OmegaPSi can be run from any machine that has a browser installed. The traditional OmegaPS and OmegaPSi architecture is illustrated in Figure 1. Any user can log into the OmegaPSi system wherever they have access to an OmegaPS server(s). Even a standard telephone line and modem will suffice.
Many of our current customers have the classic client/server architecture. This requires each client machine to be upgraded when we release updates to the OmegaPS application. With OmegaPSi this upgrade only happens on the application server once. Similarly, new installations can be completed easily and quickly. This reduces the level and hence cost of IT support required.

OmegaPSi enables other suppliers of data to log on without the need for OmegaPS software being configured on their machine.
For larger projects wanting to receive LSAR data from many outside sources OmegaPSi is the ideal enabling tool.
What can I do in OmegaPSi?
You will still need to have one traditional client established to manage and operate certain functions within OmegaPS. This is because OmegaPSi will allow data entry, review and the generation of standard reports but certain administrative functions will need to be run from the traditional client. You can configure any users access rights to ensure they supply exactly what you require and no more.
Your customer may wish to access your data for review purposes. Now all they need is internet access, a browser, a user ID and Password supplied by you, and they can be on-line in minutes.
